Terms of use.

The ground rules for this website, registration tools, and the Charles County Built This event.

Effective August 17, 2026

These Terms govern your use of charlescounty.builtthis.ai, its registration and reservation-management tools, and your participation in Charles County Built This (together, the “Services”). The event is hosted by Voice of Indian Head and the United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA). References to “we” or the “event team” mean the Charles County Built This organizers. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Registration and eligibility

  • Attendance is free, but capacity is limited. A submission does not guarantee a confirmed seat; we may place attendees on a waitlist.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep your reservation current. If you register other people, you confirm that you have permission to provide their information and communicate these Terms and the Privacy Policy to them.
  • Attendees must be at least 13. Anyone ages 13–17 must register and attend with a parent or legal guardian. The Services are not intended for children under 13.
  • Keep your reservation password confidential. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your reservation without permission.
  • We may refuse, cancel, or limit a registration when reasonably necessary for capacity, safety, legal compliance, site security, or violation of these Terms.

Event participation

Participants must treat attendees, volunteers, hosts, venue staff, and their property with respect. Harassment, discrimination, threats, disruption, unlawful conduct, unsafe behavior, or attempts to access another person’s device, account, or data are not permitted. Follow reasonable instructions from the event team and venue staff. We may remove anyone whose conduct threatens safety, interferes with the event, or violates these Terms.

Your device, accounts, and projects

You are responsible for bringing and securing your own device, charger, data, software, and AI account. The organizers do not provide loaner devices, AI subscriptions, or API keys. Third-party tools are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and you are responsible for deciding whether they are appropriate for your use.

Do not enter confidential employer or customer information, health records, financial details, passwords, export-controlled information, personal data about others, or other sensitive material into an AI service or event project unless you are authorized to do so and understand the provider’s practices. Back up important data before the event.

Your project remains on your device and in your accounts. The event organizers do not claim ownership of what you build. You are responsible for ensuring your project and inputs do not infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

Photos and recordings

This is a public community event. Photography or videography may occur and may be shared by attendees, hosts, or event sponsors. You may select the registration photo opt-out or contact us, and the event team will make reasonable efforts to honor it. We cannot guarantee that every attendee’s camera will be under our control.

Website use and content

You may use the website and downloadable event materials for personal, noncommercial participation in the event. Site text, graphics, branding, and materials remain the property of their respective owners. You may not disrupt the site, evade access controls or rate limits, probe for vulnerabilities, introduce malicious code, scrape personal information, impersonate another person, or use the Services unlawfully.

Event information and changes

We try to keep event information accurate, but schedules, speakers, venue arrangements, capacity, food, and activities may change. We may postpone, relocate, modify, or cancel the event when reasonably necessary. Because registration is free, there are no ticket refunds. You are responsible for your own travel, subscription, equipment, and other costs unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

Educational purpose and third parties

The event and website provide general educational information, not legal, medical, financial, cybersecurity, employment, or other professional advice. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete; review and test your work before relying on it. Links and references to third-party services are provided for convenience and do not make us responsible for their availability, content, security, terms, or privacy practices.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Participation and use of third-party tools are at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the event organizers, hosts, sponsors, volunteers, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, opportunities, or device access arising from the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Maryland, unless applicable law requires otherwise. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Questions may be sent to events@builtthis.ai.
